Knights . Marlon Williams. 244. player. 886. . Wide Receiver

The first offensive pick for the Raiders comes in the seventh round in wide receiver Marlon Williams from the University of Central Florida. Wide receiver is not quite a position of need for the Raiders, but you can never have enough talent at a position where some formations call for five of them on the field at the same time, especially one with a unique build and skill set like Williams.

Williams is listed as a wide receiver and has the stats to back that up, with 157 catches, 2,260 yards, and 19 touchdowns in four years, but he has a unique build for his position. He is listed at 6’0″, 222lbs and plays with a physicality that matches his measurables.

The former Knight is excellent after the catch and can be a unique playmaker for the Raiders offense, perhaps in the mold of Lynn Bowden, who the team gave up on during training camp. He can also return kicks and punts which could take some of the physical load off Hunter Renfrow‘s shoulders and help keep him healthy.

Williams has his share of weaknesses which is to be expected for a player taken in the 7th round, but he does appear to have the ability to contribute to an offense right away thanks to his skill set and could end up being one of the steals of the draft. He has plenty of experience and maybe close to a finished product but if the Raiders can get anything out of a player drafted this late it would be a huge victory for the front office.
