Raiders would be getting a special player in Dylan Moses

Dylan Moses was one of the main cogs on Alabama’s 2020 championship team, not just because he was a sure tackler; but he was also one of the fastest players whenever he stepped on the field.

Moses possesses lightning-quick closing speed whether it’s chasing down a running back or applying pressure on the quarterback. Subsequently, Las Vegas’ new defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is looking for linebackers who play with speed.

"“Speed is such a factor, and I like what I see so far. The game has gotten so spread out, with teams using the whole width and the whole length of the field. You have to have it, and we have some good speed. Now it’s just a matter of utilizing it.” –The Athletic"

While Nick Kwiatkoski and Corey Littleton are potential fits, Bradley will need more players with the versatility to make his defense effective. The Alabama standout has the ability to do it all, and when he’s asked to blitz opposing quarterbacks, he knows how to get the job done.

For the Raiders, that should be a welcome sign as they finished in the bottom 5 of the NFL with just 21 sacks in 2020. Of those 21 sacks, only 4 of them came from the linebacker position. Nicholas Morrow led the group with 3 of those sacks and he is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. In other words, the Silver and Black need explosive players at the second level of their defense that can also be serviceable in pass coverage.

Alabama’s Dylan Moses checks all the boxes for what the Raiders need in a modern-day linebacker. He would be worth a look in the second or third round of the 2021 NFL draft if the team is serious about finally improving the defense.
