The Clemson Connection

The only person who might like Clemson players more than Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock is Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney. In an article done recently by our very own Khaled Abdallah, he looked at what it would take to get Watson, and how the Clemson connection is intriguing.

In the first year of the Mayock/Gruden tandem, they selected Clelin Ferrell, Trayvon Mullen, and Hunter Renfrow from Clemson. To follow up, in the 2020 draft, they selected Tanner Muse and John Simpson.

Gruden and Mayock love the championship DNA and the culture change that these players bring. Brought up in a system built on winning and comradery, Clemson Tigers are becoming Raiders every year.

This also leads back to the Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow connection. Sports fans remember the amazing heroics by the two in the National Championship game and it would be exciting to see that again in Vegas.

There is no doubt that the Raiders love Clemson players, so the idea is there for them to bring in the best one that has come out in a long time.
