Charles Woodson returns to the Raiders
In 2013, after Woodson’s time in Green Bay came to a close, the highly decorated defensive star made his return to Oakland to meet with the Raiders about a possible return. Raider Nation came out in full force upon hearing of Woodson’s return and surrounded the Alameda complex where the Raiders held their headquarters.
The loyalty of Raider Nation and the opportunity to finish where it all began led Woodson to sign a contract to return to the Raiders. Woodson, who was 36 years old at the time, came in and was named a captain, and once again made immediate impacts
He helped mentor the young players on the team both offensively and defensively, and in 2015, was named to his 9th Pro Bowl. At the end of the 2015 season, Woodson announced that he would be retiring from the National Football league, and in his final game in Oakland, he made an emotional speech thanking the Raiders and the members of Raider Nation.
