Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden is bringing back one of his favorites for the 2021 season, quarterback Nathan Peterman. Why the Las Vegas shot-caller loves Peterman is beyond comprehension, maybe he’s a good locker room presence? Or maybe he’s a positive presence in the quarterback’s room.

Either way, bringing back Peterman puts the quarterback position into a bit of confusion.

In his time with the Raiders, Peterman has only seen action in one game, and that was back in Week 12 versus the Atlanta Falcons. And the only reason he saw action was due to the team getting beaten pretty badly, with the final score being 43-6.

Before joining the Silver and Black, Peterman had four starts under his belt, going 1-3 as a starting quarterback. He threw for three touchdowns and 12 interceptions in that stretch, clearly, Gruden sees something none of us do, so kudos.

Well, given all the speculation surrounding the Raiders this week, at least Raider Nation can rejoice in knowing Peterman will be back. Whether Las Vegas would actually pull the trigger on a trade for Deshaun Watson is another debate. There would be so many intangibles to such a trade such as draft capital and maybe having to ship out certain Raiders star players.

Nevertheless, what does Peterman returning mean for the rest of the Raiders’ quarterbacks?
