Las Vegas Raiders stick with Derek Carr in latest 7-round mock draft
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders have invested a lot of early draft capital on their secondary the last two years, spending a first round pick on a cornerback and a safety, and a second round pick on a cornerback as well. Of the three selections, only Trayvon Mullen has shown he can compete consistently at the NFL level, so both Johnathan Abram and Damon Arnette are entering big seasons in 2021.
Looking at this draft class, and the Raiders roster, they need some help, and talent at the safety position. The jury is still out on Abram, but if a guy like Hamsah Nasirildeen is still available in the third round, he is a player that Mike Mayock seriously has to consider bringing in to bolster the position group.
Nasirildeen is a quality coverage guy, can come up and play in the box, and has soft hands. He would be a nice complement to Abram moving forward, and could learn a lot from guys like Jeff Heath and Erik Harris, if they are back in the Silver and Black next season.
