3 reasons the Las Vegas Raiders should sign J.J. Watt

The Las Vegas Raiders have had serious issues when it comes to getting after the quarterback, finishing the 2020 campaign with only 21 sacks as a team. Seven of those sacks came from second-year edge rushers Maxx Crosby, who has 17 sacks to his ledger since being selected in the fourth round back in 2019.

On Friday, news came down that the Houston Texans are going to release J.J. Watt, granting the three-time Defensive Player of the Year’s request. While the Texans are going to move on from Watt, there are a ton of teams that he could help, including the Las Vegas Raiders.

It makes more sense that Watt would instead decide to go to a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers, where his brothers currently play. The Green Bay Packers are also a likely destination, as he was born and played his college ball in Wisconsin, but the lure of Vegas could bring Watt to the desert.

As we look at the Raiders’ needs heading into 2021, the defensive line is a real issue, so there are plenty of reasons why Las Vegas should try and go after Watt this offseason.
