Savings if traded: $19.63 million

Derek Carr’s situation seems simple. Unless the Raiders can land a player of his caliber, an upgrade or a major haul for him, he’s going to start his eighth season with the team.

Sources told The Athletic that Carr isn’t likely to return multiple first-round picks in a trade.

“As for the trade cost should Carr be made available — that would mean a comparable or better QB heading to Las Vegas — league sources don’t see Las Vegas receiving multiple first-round selections for Carr.”

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Houston Texans have no interest in trading quarterback Deshaun Watson. Philadelphia Eagles’ Carson Wentz had an abysmal 2020 campaign, throwing for 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions with a 57.4 percent completion rate.

Without any first-rounders coming in and no potential upgrade available, Carr isn’t in the crosshairs of the trade market despite all the chatter around his name. The Raiders aren’t actively shopping him either.

According to The MMQB’s Albert Breer, the Raiders shut down an inquiry from the Washington Football Team.

"“…they’ve inquired on Carr—who, to this point, has not been made available by the Raiders,” Breer wrote."

Carr survives another offseason with swirling rumors around him.
