Raiders keep Trent Brown around

If Trent Brown does stay in a Raiders uniform, and he is motivated to stay in great shape, he has only played a full 16-game season twice in his six years in the league. He is an injury waiting to happen, as has been evident during his time in the Silver and Black.

The Raiders would still need a contingency plan for his likely time out because even if Trent Brown comes back, that shouldn’t prevent the front office from drafting his eventual replacement. Of course, it would give them some cushion on their draft and free agency plans if he were to return to the fold.

Brown returning in great shape would hopefully keep a rookie out of the starting lineup until later on in the season, and wouldn’t require the Raiders to make moves in free agency to shore up the right side of the offensive line. The return of Brown in full force would allow Josh Jacobs some breathing room in the run game and help the Raiders’ offense take the next step.
