2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders land defensive star in full first-round mock
21. Indianapolis Colts – Edge Kwity Paye, Michigan
The retirement of Anthony Castonzo may lead Indianapolis to go offensive tackle. Still, at this point, they would be going after players like Sam Cosmi and Jake Mayfield, who are not necessarily plugin play prospects. Meanwhile, on the defensive line, the Colts have three players heading into free agency (Justin Houston, Denico Autry, and Al-Quadin Muhammad), so depending on how they address that, the edge could become a position of need.
Kwity Paye may be the freakiest athlete in the draft and topped Bruce Feldman’s freak list in 2020. look for him to really turn some heads when combine testing is released. Paye athleticism would provide instant pop to the Colts defensive line and give them a menace on the edge for years to come.
22. Tennessee Titans – Edge Azeez Ojulari, Georgia
The Titans had one of the worst pass rushes in the league this past season with only a 3.54% sack percentage, which was 29th. So edge rusher is a definite position of need, and Azeez Ojulari seems to be a good fit. Ojulari is an explosive pass rusher with an incredible first step that allows him to be effective despite being only 240lbs.
With him turning the edge, Tennessee could get the instant pressure they have lacked after a few failed free agent moves in 2020. Fans may be skeptical of taking another Georgia player, but if he’s the best player on the board, you can’t really concern yourself with the past.
