2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders land defensive star in full first-round mock

30. Buffalo Bills – Edge Carlos Basham Jr, Wake Forrest

The Bills need help opposite of Tre’Davious White and more pass rushers. At this point, the top corners are gone, so it may be a stretch to go after the next tier of prospects this early. So with that, the Bills could look to upgrade the pass rush, and Carlos Basham Jr is a big prospect (280lbs) that possesses an unusually explosive get-off.

Basham Jr was number two on Bruce Feldman’s freaks list, and when you watch him, it’s almost like he’s 240lbs. He will need to find the right mix of combining his size with the explosiveness, but that seems like a good problem. With his length and strong hands, he is plenty capable of being a bull-rush type player that is then able to change pace with athleticism.

31. Kansas City Chiefs – OT Samuel Cosmi, University of Texas

The Kansas City Chiefs have to do something to improve the depth up front along the offensive line, as star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was running for his life all game long in Super Bowl LV. With the No. 31 overall pick, the Chiefs bolster the offensive tackle spot, bringing in Samuel Cosmi from the University of Texas.

This is a guy who could play on the left or right side at the next level, depending on what the Chiefs plan to do with the veterans on their roster. One thing is for sure, they cannot afford to let what happened in the Super Bowl happen again, so adding depth is crucial here.

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Edge Jayson Oweh, Penn State

The Bucs are in a position where they can really take whoever they want as the roster is still well-suited to compete for another Superbowl. Shaq Barrett is a free agent, and I’d be shocked if they didn’t resign him. However, if they don’t, Jayson Oweh is an athletic and twitchy edge defender who can help fill the hole. Oweh didn’t record a sack in 2020, but when you watch him, he is getting in the backfield always and just needs to close the deal.
