2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders land defensive star in full first-round mock

1. Jacksonville Jaguars – QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

Ever since Trevor Lawrence stepped on campus at Clemson, he seemed predestined to become a future number one overall pick, and unless something absolutely insane happens, he will fulfill that immense hype he garnered coming out of high school. Jacksonville is starting a new regime under new head coach Urban Meyer and what better way to start your tenure than with perhaps the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck.

There is really nothing Lawrence can’t do as a passer, and he proved to be a competent runner too. Jacksonville will still have plenty of holes to fill, but they could be getting a real franchise-altering player with Lawrence.

2. New York Jets – QB Justin Fields, Ohio State

The real intrigue will begin with the second pick. Do the Jets still believe in Sam Darnold? Or are they looking to take another swing at a highly regarded QB prospect?. If the Jets stay at this pick, they probably will have chosen the latter, which leaves the decision of Justin Fields or Zach Wilson.

Both are good options, but Fields gets the edge here. With his accuracy and mobility, he should fit nicely in the Kyle Shanahan-style offense that new OC Mike LaFleur wants to run. And Fields has plenty of arm talent to stretch the field as well.
