K.J. Wright would be a nice target for the Las Vegas Raiders

K.J Wright is set to be a free agent in 2021, as the Seahawks have to start making decisions on who they let go and who they bring in. With Russell Wilson saying he’s not happy with the protection, the likelihood that Wright stays in Seattle is slim to none.

Unlike most Will Linebackers, Wright has played in all three positions on the field, left and right outside, as well as the interior with success. Wright made $7 million last season and could be a good fit in the defense with a lot of young talent.

He could come in as an aging leader, a position that Vontaze Burfict was supposed to be before his suspension. Last season, Cory Littleton played in the middle and struggled against the run. To be fair, though, he wasn’t brought in to stop the run but rather to bolster up the passing defense.

Last season, Wright played in all 16 games with 68 tackles and two sacks. He also returned one interception for a touchdown and two fumbles too. While not the coverage player that Littleton is, Wright can play any position on the field, including pass-rushing.

If the Raiders pick up the phone they’ll be getting a 32-year-old veteran linebacker on a short deal with low guaranteed money and an upside that will benefit the team in the long run.
