2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders land elite LB in 7-round mock
By Brad Weiss
Marvin Wilson was once considered a first-round target
In the fourth round, the Raiders continue to add to the defensive side of the ball, staying up front along the defensive line and selecting Marvin Wilson from Florida State University. This is a guy who was originally slated for the first round, but he takes a big stumble in this mock draft, and the Raiders cannot draft him fast enough this late.
The defensive line was atrocious at times last season, lacking both talent and depth, so Wilson will have a chance to make his presence felt immediately. Maurice Hurst is a solid player, and the hope is that Johnathan Hankins returns next season, so adding Wilson would give the Raiders at least a solid core in the middle of the defensive line in 2021 and beyond.
Adding Wilson and Rashed gives the Raiders more depth up front along the defensive line, and when you add both Parsons and Grant to the mix, this defense is getting the help it needs. Sure, Wilson could have a great draft cycle and go higher than the fourth round, but if he is available at pick No. 122 overall, it would have to be considered a win for a Raiders team that needs bodies in the middle of their defensive line.
