Tre Brown could help bolster the cornerback spot in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Raiders have only two more selections in the 2021 NFL Draft, after losing their sixth-round pick due to COVID protocol violations. While we can talk about that all night long, the fact is, the Raiders have to hit on these six selections this year, because there is only so much cap space to go around, and the draft is going to be key.

Luckily, Mike Mayock makes his money after the first round, as he has been solid since taking over as general manager in Day 2 and Day 3 picks, and he gets another solid player here in the fifth round. Tre Brown is a cornerback who could come in and push Damon Arnette for a starting spot as a rookie, and a little competition never hurt anybody, especially young players.

Trayvon Mullen has cemented himself as the CB1 on this roster, and most Raiders fans believe he is a guy who can get the job done. The same cannot be said about Arnette, who already has been called a bust by some, so bringing in Brown, even in the fifth round, could be the spark Arnette needs to turn the corner in Year 2 this upcoming season.
