Could the Las Vegas Raiders land running back Le’Veon Bell?

The Las Vegas Raiders have an absolute stud at running back, as Josh Jacobs should have been the Rookie of the Year in 2019, and followed that up with his first Pro Bowl in 2020. Jacobs has been exactly what the franchise had hoped he would be when they made him one of their three first-round picks back in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Last season, the Raiders brought in Devontae Booker to be the No. 2 back, and he played well in his first season with Las Vegas. Also, the Raiders have Jalen Richard in the running back room, but one writer feels they could bring in a former top player at the position group this offseason to be Jacobs’ new No. 2.
Bleacher Report names Raiders as landing spot for Bell
In a recent article by Moe Moton over at Bleacher Report, the writer listed the top free agent running backs, and where they may land this offseason. From Kenyan Drake to Todd Gurley, Moton went through ten running backs who are looking for a new home in 2021, and one was named to land with the Las Vegas Raiders.
That player is Le’Veon Bell, a running back that most of the fan base coveted a few years back before he landed with the New York Jets. Since sitting out the 2018 NFL season, Bell has not looked like the same player, though getting him on a modest deal could work in the Raiders’ favor as a backup to Josh Jacobs.
"“Bell can spell running back Josh Jacobs to maintain and perhaps elevate the Raiders’ run-heavy offense,” Moton wrote."
The move would make sense for the Raiders, who will likely let Booker test the waters in free agency this offseason. Also, they could be in play for a late-round running back, but one thing is for sure, they need to take some of the load off of Jacobs, who is entering his third season as the team’s feature back.

Las Vegas has to create a lot of cap room this offseason if they want to make the right changes on this roster, and with Tyrell Williams already being released when the new league year, and Trent Brown and Lamarcus Joyner likely joining him, they should be able to do that. Imagine, a backfield of Jacobs and Bell, and while Bell is not what he used to be, he would be elite as the No. 2 back in Las Vegas.
