Should the Las Vegas Raiders pursue DeSean Jackson?

How much will it cost to bring him to the Raiders?

After signing for pretty much the veterans minimum this past offseason, you know Agholor is looking for two things this off-season, a multi-year contract, and a huge pay raise, and both are well deserved.  There have been many reports going around about how much it would cost for the Raiders to bring back Agholor, and numbers range from about $9 million a year to about $14 million a year.

As much as I loved having Nelly this season, that is just a bit too much with the salary cap being set at $180 million this season.

Jackson should come much cheaper than even that $9 million price tag.  Being in the league for 14 years, and just coming off a deal with the Eagles that have paid him $9 million a year these past two years despite him being injured, he should not command that same amount of money again next season.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he got a $3-5 million dollar contract, as a sort of prove-it deal, and that is the market the Raiders would be in with him.

With young talent at the position group, the Raiders are likely only a veteran away from being set, especially if Ruggs and Edwards take the next step this season, so Jackson would be a cheap option to throw in the mix, especially with the team focusing on the defense.
