Las Vegas Raiders 2021 7-round Mock: Alabama helps retool Front 7

The Raiders could’ve added a safety in the second round, but I’m under the assumption they’ll add one via free agency. Assuming the team makes cap space, they can choose from players like Justin Simmons or Marcus Maye if that’s the case, though Simmons could be franchise tagged.

With that being said, Texas safety Caden Sterns is the pick here at number 112 in the fourth round.

The six-foot-one Sterns put up solid numbers at Texas playing in the Big 12. He amassed 4.5 tackles for a loss, four passes defensed, and 74 solo tackles in 16 games. Considering that the Raiders need helping in defending the pass, adding Sterns’ coverage skills will come in handy.

It’s plausible he’d sit and learn most of his rookie year as he adjusts to the pro game. He’ll definitely have to bulk up and his tackling will need to improve.
