3 players the Las Vegas Raiders need to extend soon

Right off the bat, we are finally able to snap the embarrassing streak that the Raiders have had going since extending Darren McFadden. Kolton Miller was taken by the then-Oakland Raiders in Jon Gruden’s first draft since returning to the franchise in 2018, and he has steadily improved ever since.

When Miller was originally selected, it was not a very popular pick among the Raiders fanbase. He was a name that not many recognized out of UCLA, and it did not help that the across-the-bay, rival San Francisco 49ers selected a higher-rated offensive tackle, Mike McGlinchey, just a few picks prior.

Miller, however, has been highly impressive since being selected by the Raiders, improving significantly every year as the franchise’s starting left tackle. This past year, the young cornerstone of the offensive line allowed just two sacks and committed just four penalties.

He has been one of the highest graded pass blocking lineman by PFF over the last two seasons, proving to be well worth the first-round pick. Miller has, without question, outplayed McGlinchey since each was drafted by their respective teams.

A franchise blindside offensive tackle is not something easy to find in the NFL. The Raiders have one, and he is still only 25 years old. Extending him to a long-term deal would be the best move going forward for the Raiders.
