6 best players who spent only one season with the Raiders

2. Roger Craig – Los Angeles Raiders, 1991

After eight incredible years with the San Francisco 49ers, where he won three Super Bowls and put up ridiculous statistics, Roger Craig made the short flight down the California coast to sign with the Los Angeles Raiders. Craig was a versatile back that was equally as dangerous getting the ball in the backfield or through the air.

Craig had three 1,000+ yard rushing seasons with the 49ers but also had a 1,000 yard receiving season in 1985 where he also caught 92 receptions. He lead the NFL in receptions that year and regularly had seasons with 65+ receptions and over 500 yards receiving.

The former Nebraska Cornhusker had two seasons with 2,000 yards from scrimmage and was one of the first backs in the NFL to showcase this level of versatility.

When he signed with the Raiders in 1991, Craig was coming off a season where he had just 600 total yards but that was primarily due to missing time with injury. In his sole season in LA, Craig split time with Nick Bell and Marcus Allen and was only able to cobble together 726 total yards. He was clearly past his prime but he was the leading rusher on a Raiders team that finished 9-7 and made the playoffs.

After leaving the Raiders, Craig spent two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings as a backup and added another 800+ yards to his career total but was never the same. His resume is impressive and he has been a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame but has yet to have been given that prestigious honor.
