6 best players who spent only one season with the Raiders

1. Eric Dickerson – Los Angeles Raiders, 1992

Eric Dickerson is one of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL history, primarily for his exploits with the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts. Dickerson was an imposing back at 6’3, 220 and he used that massive frame and incredible speed to put up some of the best seasons we have ever seen by a running back.

The former SMU Mustang still holds the single season rushing record of 2,105 yards which has stood for nearly 40 years though Adrian Peterson came up just eight yards short in 2012. Dickerson had two other seasons with more than 1,800 yards and had five seasons with double-digit rushing touchdowns.

By the time he had been traded to the Los Angeles Raiders at the age of 32, Dickerson was beat down by the near decade of begin a workhorse back and had come off some injury plagued seasons. He did however play in all 16 games for the Raiders and led the team in rushing with 729 yards and a respectable 3.9 yards per attempt.

Dickerson was no longer the First Team All-Pro back he once was, an honor he earned 5 times in his career, but he was still a solid back despite the many miles on him. After his year in LA, Dickerson went on to play one more season in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons but only played in 4 games. He would retire shortly after and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame six years later in 1999.
