Last season, the Las Vegas Raiders got an incredible effort from wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who really came out of nowhere to be the team’s top wideout. A former Meme with the Philadelphia Eagles, Agholor became the deep threat the Raiders were hoping Henry Ruggs III would be, hauling in 48 passes for nearly 900 yards and eight touchdowns.

The emergence of Agholor was crucial due to the fact the Raiders saw Tyrell Williams miss the entire season due to injury, and rookies Henry Ruggs III and Bryan Edwards struggle to get up to speed at the NFL level. Of course, by speed, I do not mean footspeed, as they have more than enough of that, but getting used to the level of play.

As they enter the 2021 offseason, Agholor is a free agent, and the hope by all, including general manager Mike Mayock, is that he will be back in the Silver and Black. If he does return, the Raiders are set at the position.

In addition to Agholor, Zay Jones is also a free agent this offseason, and he has developed a nice rapport with quarterback Derek Carr. The main free agent, however, at the position group is Agholor, who had a breakout year in 2020, and became Carr’s favorite deep threat, a spot Ruggs was supposed to excel in.

If Las Vegas can retain Agholor, they go into 2021 with him, Ruggs, Edwards, and Hunter Renfrow at the position, a great foursome of players by any means. Also, the Silver and Black have Marcell Ateman and Keelan Doss on the roster, giving them good depth on the outside.

In the 2021 NFL Draft, the Raiders could also use a late-round pick on a wideout, as there is a pretty deep class coming out. Either way, Agholor is the main focus this offseason.

Of course, if Agholor does find a better deal somewhere else, and decides to leave the Raiders, it means Ruggs and Edwards will have to step up big time in Year No. 2. Derek Carr is entering his eighth year as a starter and needs to make it back to the playoffs, and Agholor is a guy who can certainly help him get there.
