Las Vegas Raiders: One draft prospect to target from each top-25 program

. DL. Hawkeyes . Daviyon Nixon. 16. player. 878

We’re back to the interior defensive line, and if you just watch Daviyon Nixon against Northwestern, you would have thought he is a first-round level player. Even in a loss, Nixon dominated the interior and did so with a level of quickness that you don’t find very often in a guy his size (6’3, 306lbs).

That quickness and explosive combined with good hand usage can make him a rotation-level player pretty quickly for the Raiders. The bar isn’t exactly high, but Nixon certainly has the necessary tools.

Now the problem with prospects like Nixon is getting him to make sure those flashes become his consistent play level. That will lead to him being taken in the 3-5 round range instead of early day two. Plus, he only has one year of production as a starter, which is always a tricky evaluation.
