Las Vegas Raiders: One draft prospect to target from each top-25 program

829. . DL. Crimson Tide . Christian Barmore. 1. player

In the last two seasons, the Raiders have gone to the Alabama pool multiple times, drafting Josh Jacobs and Henry Ruggs III in the first round. Nick Saban has built a dynasty in Tuscaloosa, so more often than not, when you’re considering players in the first round, Alabama has multiple prospects in the conversation.

The struggles along the defensive line have been well documented, but the problems on edge can sometimes hide the interior’s terrible play. According to PFF, the Raiders are projected to spend the fewest amount of money on the interior defensive line.

On top of that, they could lose Johnathan Hankins and Maliek Collins in free agency this offseason.

Perhaps the front office will defy the PFF projections and spend money on defensive tackles, but they have to get one in the draft if they don’t. Christian Barmore is arguably the best at his position in this draft class and could fit in round one. If a trade back was possible to perhaps the later 20s, that might be a better spot to take Barmore. However, we’ve seen the Raiders abandon pick value quite often the past few drafts and get the guy they want.

Barmore has only one year as a starter but flashed a ton of talent and played his best in the playoffs.
