Las Vegas Raiders: One draft prospect to target from each top-25 program

After addressing the Gabe Jackson release, the next cap casualty on the offensive line could be Trent Brown. After signing the largest contract in NFL history (at the time) for an offensive lineman, his Raiders tenure has been marked by constant injuries, and at this point, it’s hard to justify him staying.

Las Vegas could cut him with zero dead money, but I’m sure they wouldn’t choose that option first if a trade is out there.

Now, if both Jackson, Incognito, and Brown are gone, the Raiders may look to upgrade the tackle position on day two instead of going with a guard. If that’s the case, Clemson’s Jackson Carman could be a nice heir-apparent to Brown. Carman is another big tackle at 6’5 and 335lbs but carries it very well, which allows him to be a menace in the run game.

In pass protection, he struggles with speed rushers but knows how to use his hands and be a capable pass protector.

From looking at different scouting reports, it appears that Carman is still growing as a player, so the Raiders could be getting an ascending prospect. And if he doesn’t pan out at tackle, he still has plenty of ability to be a high-level guard.
