Las Vegas Raiders: One draft prospect to target from each top-25 program

819. . LB. Fighting Irish . Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. 5. player

As offenses continue to advance, the need for versatile hybrid players in the middle of your defense has become almost a necessity. And perhaps the best hybrid player in this entire 2021 draft is Notre Dame’s Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. He had a tremendous 2020 season for the Fighting Irish taking home the Dick Butkus Award (Best LB), ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and was a consensus All-American.

Nicknamed “The JOKer,” Owusu-Kormoah is fantastic in coverage showing the ability to guard receivers in the slot and drop into zones at a high level. And despite his size, he is very physical and can bring some pop in the run game.

Even though the Raiders have made moves to address the linebacker position the past few seasons, none of them are good enough to prevent Las Vegas from taking someone like Owusu-Koramoah. Especially if the front office deems him the best player on the board.

With his versatility, the Raiders could even decide to play three linebackers more often because Owusu-Koramoah can act as both a WILL linebacker or third safety on any given play.
