Las Vegas Raiders: One draft prospect to target from each top-25 program
Luke Fickell and the Cincinnati Bearcats had a tremendous season in 2020, going 9-1 and winning the American conference. It was a very well-balanced team that was top-20 in the nation in offense and top-10 on defense.
Part of that success was offensive tackle James Hudson who in only one season played at an All-American level and decided to forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the draft.
Hudson’s story is fascinating. He started as a defensive tackle at Michigan before switching to the offensive line, and when things didn’t work out in Ann Arbor, Hudson transferred to Cincinnati in 2019, and by 2020 he was the starting left tackle. Despite being still an incredibly raw player, Hudson’s movement skills and powerful hands are easy to point out.
Given how new he is to the position, it may be hard to expect Hudson to produce on day one, but with what Tom Cable has done with the Raiders offensive line lately, he may be able to develop and grow him. If that is the case, the Raiders could get a steal in the third or fourth round.
