Derek Carr is a great return for the Seahawks

Finally, the third component of why the Raiders are the only logical choice for Seattle to trade Wilson to is the fact they would be getting an above-average quarterback back in return. Derek Carr has had three straight 4,000-yard seasons since Gruden returned to the franchise, and his statistics and wins have gone up every year.

If the Seahawks are going to hit the reset button at the quarterback position, Carr makes sense, as he is still very young, and comes with an outstanding price tag. Once the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, Carr is actually a bit of a bargain when you look at his production and his age, and Pete Carroll is not at a point in his career where he is going to lean on a rookie signal-caller.

If you have read this far, it is the point where I tell you that I do not believe Wilson is coming to the Raiders, and nor do I think that the team plans to move on from Carr any time soon. They have stuck behind him throughout, but Mayock does always say that they look to improve every position every offseason, and at this point, Wilson would be an upgrade over a very good quarterback in Carr.
