We all know how much Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden love guys from Clemson, and they could select another one in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft in Jackson Carman. The Ohio native was a role player for the Tigers as a freshman but became the full-time starter at left tackle in his sophomore season and was named Third-Team All-ACC.

Carman continued to start for the Tigers in 2020 and was named Second-Team All-ACC and started in all 12 games despite dealing with some injuries. Many scouts believed he would return for his senior season to solidify his draft stock as a first-rounder but he will likely still be an early-round pick for his potential.

The former Tiger is massive at 6’5″, 335lbs and has elite athleticism for a man his size with scouts comparing him to the consensus number on tackle Penei Sewell. Carman projects to be a high-level starter but could end up being a special player if he can translate that athleticism and size to the NFL level.

Carman may not be able to start day one, similar to Cosmi, but if the Raiders are going to sign a veteran RT and develop a player as a project, then he may be the right pick in the second round. A team could get enamored with his tools and potential and select him earlier but if he falls to the Raider he could be a foundational piece on the offensive line for years to come.
