With the Las Vegas Raiders set to release or trade back up Marcus Mariota here are some options in the late rounds of the draft to replace him.

The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback room is going to get less crowded in the coming weeks.  Derek Carr is still slated to be the starter and the Raiders are set on either releasing or trading back up Marcus Mariota. Mariota is a ton of money to sit behind Carr once more this season, and with issues up and down their roster, they are going to have to find cap space.

If Mariota does get released or traded, that leaves the Raiders with only Nathan Peterman as Carr’s backup, which just is not going to happen to enter the 2021 regular season. They have to do something to improve the position group behind Carr, and the 2021 NFL Draft has more than a few interesting options late.

Everybody knows the top few quarterbacks in the draft, even if they are slotted in different draft positions. The consensus is Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields in whatever order you prefer should be the first signal-callers off the board, but some very intriguing quarterbacks will be taken in the later rounds that I feel can develop into not only good backups, but capable starters as well.

Here is a list of four late-round quarterbacks I think the Raiders should take a look at in the 2021 NFL Draft.
