Las Vegas Raiders late-round QB targets

Ian Book, Notre Dame

To be quite honest with everybody, the first couple years of Ian Book’s career at Notre Dame I was not very impressed by him, but this year changed things.  Not only did he lead his team to a playoff appearance, his second in three seasons, but after watching him play, and looking over his career stats, it just seems like I’ve just been sleeping on him as a quarterback.

Book isn’t someone who is going to wow anybody with his arm talent, like Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers, but his football IQ can make up for a lot of those deficiencies. He is also very solid in extending plays with his legs and running with the football, something that was needed due to a lack of talent at the wide receiver spot in South Bend this past season.

This season for Notre Dame, Book threw for 2,830 yards and 15 touchdowns to only three interceptions.  He also ran for nearly 500 more yards, finishing with 485 on the ground.

In 2019, he was an even better Ian Book, as he had 3,304 yards, 34 touchdowns, and only six interceptions, and those are eye-popping numbers. He finished his career with over 1,500 rushing yards, and 17 rushing touchdowns over his four-year career at Notre Dame.

Also, he finished as the all-time winningest quarterback in Notre Dame history, an incredible accomplishment when you consider all the signal-callers to play for the Irish.
