The Las Vegas Raiders traded away starting right tackle Trent Brown on Tuesday morning, and here are three ways they can replace him in 2021 and beyond.

Early Tuesday morning, the Las Vegas Raiders traded former Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Brown to the New England Patriots. This resulted from an inferred disconnect between Brown and the Raiders organization, but the specifics of what happened in the building are unknown to many outside of it.

However, one thing is for certain; the Silver and Black have huge shoes to fill at right tackle during the 2021 season and beyond. Say what you will about Brown, but since 2019 he was a difference-maker for Las Vegas when he was on the field.

With the recent releases of last season’s starting guards Gabe Jackson and Richie Incognito, the team possesses a few internal solutions to replacing them. The same cannot be said for the offensive tackle position, as Brandon Parker and Kolton Miller are the only two true tackles remaining on the roster.

Moving forward, the team has to act quickly to fill the void. The first opportunity to replace Trent comes in less than 10 days.

Daryl Williams is the best free-agent option for the Raiders to replace Trent Brown

Former Buffalo Bills offensive tackle, Daryl Williams, was one of the best right tackles in all of football in 2020. Daryl was an intricate part of the Bills playoff run, as he stabilized the right side of Buffalo’s line. He is the best right tackle on the free-agent market, so he will cost the Raiders if they wanted similar production to Trent Brown when he was on the field.

This is probably a longshot and more than likely the only option in free agency that the team should consider. The other right tackles on the market are either aging or middle of the road in terms of production.

Look for the team to potentially rectify their offensive tackle situation in the 2021 NFL Draft.
