3 free agents the Raiders must re-sign in 2021

Nelson Agholor

Heading into the 2020 NFL season, the expectation was that No. 11 overall pick Henry Ruggs III would settle in as the deep threat for quarterback Derek Carr. With Tyrell Williams returning, and the addition of both Ruggs and Bryan Edwards via the 2020 NFL Draft, free-agent signee Nelson Agholor was seen as a bit player on the depth chart.

Well, Agholor ended up being the best wide receiver on this Raiders team, putting together the best season of his career. A former Meme during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Agholor proved to be just what this Raiders team needed at wide receiver, and now comes the task of bringing him back on a new contract.

Some feel that Agholor’s play may have priced him out of Las Vegas, as he showed that he has the ability to be a legitimate WR1 this past season. However, the Raiders need to do whatever they can to bring him back, because he has Carr’s trust, the rest of the wideout group is really young, and he has proven that he can put on the Silver and Black and succeed, something Mayock’s recent free-agent additions have not.
