The Las Vegas Raiders made several moves to prepare for free agency and their needs have shifted, here is a 7-round mock with these new needs in mind

The Las Vegas Raiders came into the offseason over the salary cap, and we knew there would be several moves coming to help them get under the current cap, as well as the lowered cap figure for 2021. As of today, the cap will be around $180 million, and the Raiders have done plenty to make sure they have the room to sign all of their draft picks and some key free agents.

Cuts were expected for players like Tyrell Williams and Lamarcus Joyner, who were either not healthy or ineffective when on the field, but other more unexpected moves created new needs for the team. Trading Trent Brown created a massive hole at right tackle and the release of both starting guards from Week 1 leaves much of the offensive line in flux.

The other needs are primarily on the defensive side of the ball, and the hope was they would have been filled last offseason through free agency and the draft, but here we are a year later still looking for a competent free safety and edge rusher. The list of needs doesn’t stop there as interior defensive lineman are needed as well as some depth at linebacker and receiver.

This mock draft is primarily focused on filling those needs and many of them will likely be addressed through free agency as well. Let’s start with the projected first-round pick for the Las Vegas Raiders that fills a long-time need on defense.
