Las Vegas Raiders trade starting right tackle Trent Brown and a 2022 seventh-round pick to the New England Patriots for a 2022 fifth-round pick.
Since joining the Raiders, Trent Brown has looked like the most dominant right tackle in football, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2019, and like someone who did not want to get on the field. Last season, Brown had to battle through a ton of issues, including an IV that nearly killed him, COVID-19, and other injuries, limiting him to only five games.
In fact, across two seasons with the Raiders, Brown played in only 16 of a possible 32 games, which frustrated Raider Nation at times. This offseason, with the team needing to clear cap space, the Raiders figured it was best to trade him away, and that they did, sending him back to the New England Patriots.
With Brown gone, the Raiders will now have to address who starts opposite Kolton Miller going forward, but luckily, this is not only a good free agency year for that, but also a solid draft class. They also have to replace both starting guards from Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season, so a lot of work need to be done upfront in front of Derek Carr.
Las Vegas Raiders trade Rodney Hudson and a 2021 seventh-round pick to the Arizona Cardinals for a 2021 third-round pick
The Las Vegas Raiders ended up not releasing Rodney Hudson, but instead will trade him to the Arizona Cardinals for a third-round draft pick. In addition to Hudson, the Raiders will also be sending a seventh-round pick in 2021 to the Cards, ending one of the better careers we have seen from a free agent signing with the Raiders in a long time.
Las Vegas Raiders trade Gabe Jackson to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick
Gabe Jackson was with the Raiders since being drafted in 2014, but with him expected to earn a big chunk of change this offseason, the team decided to go in another direction. For Jackson, he was a constant upfront for Derek Carr, and by trading him away to the Seattle Seahawks, the Raiders were able to net a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft.
