Best available free agents that fit the Las Vegas Raiders needs
The Raiders made a big move to address their pass rush and build up their defensive line with the addition of Yannick Ngakoue on day one of free agency. The young pass rusher has been very productive throughout his career and should combine well with Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby.
There is still a need for more talent and more depth along the defensive line and there is an excellent player out there in Melvin Ingram who can still produce at a high level. The veteran LB/DE was hampered last season with injuries and only played seven games but was a model of consistency and health in the five years prior.
From 2015 to 2019, Ingram played in 77 of a possible 80 games and racked up 43 sacks and 92 QB hits over that span. He has been incredibly productive as both an outside linebacker and defensive end and is a player the Raiders are very familiar with considering he has 9 sacks in 15 games against them.
Ingram has also been in defensive coordinator Gus Bradley’s system for four years and would require no adjustment period in a move to Las Vegas. He can provide veteran leadership on a team desperate for some and is just a year removed from a 7 sack Pro Bowl season.
