Las Vegas Raiders getting draft compensation for Rodney Hudson
By Brad Weiss
One day after announcing they were releasing Rodney Hudson, the Las Vegas Raiders were actually able to trade him away to the Arizona Cardinals.
The Las Vegas Raiders actually were not releasing Rodney Hudson after all, as they swung a deal with the Arizona Cardinals for the Pro Bowl center on Wednesday. Hudson had been a cornerstone on this roster since coming to the organization from the Kansas City Chiefs, so the announcement that he would be released was quite a shock to Raiders Nation.
However, news started to filter in on Wednesday that Hudson would be traded, and that ended up being the case. He heads to the NFC West to join a bunch of veterans with the Cardinals, in hopes of getting to a Super Bowl.
On Wednesday, Adam Schefter tweeted this out right before the new league year began.
Hudson should forever be remembered fondly by the fans of this franchise, as he came to work every day and battled, even on some very bad teams. He was the glue keeping one of the top offensive lines in the league together for a very long time, and we wish him luck as he heads to the desert.
For the Raiders, the loss of Hudson is going to be a tough one, as he was the heart and soul of the offensive line. The team was able to bring back Richie Incognito, who announced his return on his own Twitter feed, so for now, the offensive line is a lot stronger than it was 24 hours ago.
With the new league year just starting, we are in for a roller coaster of a ride. Make sure to continue to check out our tracker for all the news, as we will try to update in real-time, and recap each night.
