Las Vegas Raiders: Offensive tackles to target after the first round
Brady Christensen – BYU
Brady Christensen is much more of a Day 3 pick, but he has the talent to be a strong player at the next level. In fact, I would like him to come in and really battle it out with Brandon Parker for depth at offensive tackle, as he has the versatility you look for at the position group.
He played left tackle this season, protecting the pocket for projected first-round pick Zach Wilson, and helped that offense explode this season. Speed rushers who can combine their moves and rush with a bend can cause Christensen trouble, but under the tutelage of Offensive Line coach Tom Cable, I bet he could make marked improvement sitting on the bench for a season or two.
In the 2020 season, a span of 409 pass-blocking attempts, Christensen allowed only a single sack to go along with three pressures. That kind of dominance landed him the honor of being a first-team All-American.
In addition to his ability to pass block, Christensen is also solid in the run game, as according to PFF, his pass blocking was at a 96 grade, while his run blocking dipped a bit coming in with a 95.2 grade.
Brady Christensen is a player I’d love to see the Raiders draft even if they bring in a tackle with the number 17 overall pick, as at worst, he’d be a chess piece along the offensive line, being able to spot start at either tackle position, or guard if absolutely necessary.
