Las Vegas Raiders: Grading every draft pick of the Jon Gruden era
By Nick Ellis
Raiders 2020 NFL Draft, Day 3
Round 4 Pick 109- John Simpson- G
- Next five picks- Darnay Holmes, Solomon Kindley, Joshua Kelley, Troy Pride, Leki Fotu
A year later, this pick looks like it could be a good one. The Raiders have dismantled a large part of their offensive line, so offensive line depth is going to be very important for the team going forward.
Simpson played in a handful of games in his rookie season and performed well. I do not expect to see Simpson starting this season, but with Incongito’s age and injuries, we will likely see Simpson on the field again in 2021, and if he plays well in that time, could likely be a starter in 2022. I like the Simpson pick and think he could make an impact on the team in the near future.
Pick Grade: B-
Round 4 Pick 139- Amik Robertson- CB
- Next five picks- Shaquille Quarterman, John Reid, Antonio Gandy Golden, Ben Bredeson, DeeJay Dallas
Everyone was high on the Amik Robertson pick last year, but he ended up being another player that we did not see a lot of. Everyone was hoping to see Robertson slide into the slot cornerback role while Joyner would go back to being a safety where he belongs, but it never happened.
I do not think we have seen enough of Robertson to give him a grade, but I hope he gets more opportunities to prove himself in 2021.
