Las Vegas Raiders: Grading 2021 week 2 defensive free agent additions

Matt Dickerson – Defensive End, Tennessee Titans

The Raiders added yet another defensive lineman in former Tennessee Titan Matt Dickerson on a 1-year deal worth $1.25 million. There are no further details on how much of the deal is guaranteed but Dickerson is likely on a non-guaranteed deal that gives the Raiders some flexibility.

Dickerson is a former undrafted free agent from UCLA who has played in 18 games with the Titans but has been on the field for a total of just 197 snaps in his career. He has very little production to show for his playing time, but the Raiders must have seen something that caught their eye on his tape to bring him to Las Vegas.

The former Bruin does have excellent size at 6’5″, 292lbs and has a build of a edge-setting defensive end or even a defensive tackle. Dickerson’s relatively slow 40 yard dash at 5.06 and lack of eye-popping stats at UCLA likely contributed to him going undrafted but he has stuck around the NFL for a few years which is a credit to him.

This signing does not move the needle in any way and Dickerson is a likely camp cut but for now he’s another big body on a defensive line that was in sore need of depth last season.
