Las Vegas Raiders: Grading 2021 week 2 offensive free agent additions
The Las Vegas Raiders focused their attention on retaining offensive free agents, let’s analyze those moves and additions.
The Las Vegas Raiders had a busy first week of free agency as they made plenty of moves primarily on the offensive and defensive lines. Some of the other splashes they made involved the skill positions with the additions of John Brown at receiver and Kenyan Drake at running back among others.
The Raiders’ offense was the strength of the team as it finished in the top 10 in nearly all statistical categories such as total yards and points but it of course was not perfect and there is room for improvement. In the red zone, the offense stalled more often than Jon Gruden and Raider Nation would like and given the pressure, they were under due to the horrible defense, field goals just didn’t cut it in many games.
Losing number one receiver Nelson Agholor hurts the Raiders as well but one can argue they upgraded by bringing in John Brown from Buffalo. Other upgrades were needed and ensuring the team had depth is a priority and the moves the Raiders made in week two of free agency helped do that and more.
Let’s analyze these moves starting with Gruden’s original joker.
