2021 NFL Draft: 5 Non-first round CBs for Las Vegas Raiders to target

886. . Cornerback. Knights . Tay Gowan. 3. player

Tay Gowan is a true wildcard in this cornerback class as we have such little tape on the prospect. After a year with Miami of Ohio where he played in one game, Gowan transferred to Central Florida, started 12 games in 2019, and then opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID concerns.

The Georgia native has a solid physical profile at 6’2,185lbs and is expected to run in the 4.4 range at UCF’s upcoming pro day in April. He checks many of the boxes that teams look for in a cornerback due to his size, speed, athleticism, and production but there is plenty of unknown as well due to his brief resume.

This uncertainty around Gowan could benefit the Raiders if they have him on their big board because teams may choose to focus on players with more experience or from larger programs. UCF has been a successful college program in recent years but Gowan was only on the field for 12 games for the Knights.

If he posts a blazing time at his pro day and tests well overall he could quickly go from under the radar prospect to one potential top 40 pick. The Raiders and Gowan will have to wait and see what happens at the upcoming pro day.
