2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders trade down in 7-round mock

817. . LB. Tigers . Jabril Cox. 48. player

#48 – Jabril Cox: LB, LSU

The Raiders spent a ton of money on the linebacker position last offseason, but it did not net a positive result. Injuries and overall lack of production found them searching for answers yet again in the middle of the field.

Jabril Cox took a massive step in competition in 2020, transferring from North Dakota State to LSU, but his production in no way dipped. When it comes to coverage at the linebacker position, Cox can do just about everything you want. Zone drops, coverage in the slot, and man to man against tight ends.

The Raiders signed Cory Littleton to address their coverage issues at linebacker, but he struggled in 2020. This is not to say the Raiders should completely abandon Littleton because they surely will not. But I don’t think he is someone who stops you from getting a player like Cox.

His coverage ability is too valuable in today’s game.
