Every year, a player goes to the Senior Bowl and puts his name on the map, and Quinn Meinerz was that player this year. Coming from Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater, there is always a concern about the uptick in competition getting the best of prospects like Meinerz.
However, he put those concerns to bed rather quickly, and by the end of the week, he thoroughly established himself as one of the big winners of the event.
He then solidified his resume with an awe-inspiring pro day a few weeks back, where he displayed explosiveness and lateral movement skills. Combine that with how he was throwing players around at the Senior Bowl with his strength, and you’ve got yourself a high potential prospect.
The Raiders will likely have Richie Incognito for only one more season, and Meinerz could be a perfect replacement going forward. He also showed the ability to play center, which just adds valuable versatility to his game.
He is a tough nose player and is the type of prospect you could see Jon Gruden gushing over, especially after seeing Meinerz’s offseason workout regime that resembles something out of Rocky IV.
