2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders trade down in 7-round mock

We’ve been going after more high-floor prospects early in the draft, but with a guy like Trill Williams, this is a chance on elite physical traits. It’s not every day you see a 6’2 200lbs slot corner, but Williams was just that during his time at Syracuse.

After being mainly an outside corner in 2018, Williams has been a slot player, which leaves his evaluation tricky.

His physical profile screams outside corner, but Syracuse sought fit to put him inside for some reason. However, the Raiders could use this to their advantage and get an elite athlete to mold around their cover three scheme perfectly. Williams is a long and physical player that knows how to use his traits to his advantage.

Not afraid to be physical in the run game, Gus Bradley could use Williams to his strengths and get a legit starter out of him, which is a manageable risk worth taking on Day 3. He even played a little safety at Syracuse, so perhaps there is some untapped potential there was well.

2021 NFL Draft: Las Vegas Raiders trade down in 7-round mock

814. . QB. Bulldogs . Jamie Newman. 135. player

Jaime Newman looked to improve his stock going into 2020 after transferring from Wake Forrest to Georgia in the offseason. However, he then decided to opt-out of the season, which has left him in a peculiar place when it comes to where he will be selected.

Teams were hoping to see him growing in anticipating throws and running a more complex scheme, but without that, Newman is banking on his Wake Forrest film. Newman has the ideal build (6’4, 230lb) with the ability and willingness to push the ball down the field. And his athleticism gives him great added value.

Marcus Mariota likely won’t be on the team past this season, and if Gruden still wants to have a mobile QB, Newman could fill that void. And with his physical tools, he could develop into a legit player if things click for him when it comes to the game’s mental aspects.

QB is a position worth investing in, and if you can get value like this late in round four, there is no harm in doing so.
