2021 7-round NFL Mock Draft lands Las Vegas Raiders a right tackle
By Brad Weiss
Staying with the secondary, the Raiders made that area of the defense a priority in the 2021 NFL Draft, spending two of their first three selections on the position group. After adding a safety in Richie Grant in the second round, the Silver and Black bring in a cornerback with their first of two selections in the third round, adding Tyson Campbell from Georgia.
For a while, Campell was in the conversation of being a first-round selection, and with the Raiders, he would definitely get an opportunity to start right away. In 2020, the Raiders used a first-round pick on Damon Arnette, a player who should have gone in the third round, so maybe they do a flip-flop by getting a potential first-round talent here in round three.
Campbell is not a ballhawk, but he is a terrific cover corner, has the size you look for and is very athletic. He also is a kid who has steadily improved across his career with the Bulldogs and entering the NFL, he should have no problems impacting this franchise right away. If Gus Bradley can turn around this group, headlined by Arnette, Trayvon Mullen, and Isaiah Johnson to name a few, it would completely change this defense.
