Las Vegas Raiders: 3 former players who still need a team for the 2021 season

The Las Vegas Raiders have added a bunch of new faces, but some former members of the Silver and Black are still looking for work.

Heading into this offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders had a lot of work to do in terms of their roster, as they needed to not only add salary cap space somehow but also address issues on both sides of the ball. They were able to shed the cap they needed, although it came at the expense of revamping their offensive line, losing an elite player in Rodney Hudson, as well as Gabe Jackson and Trent Brown.

However, they have done a nice job bringing back some talent, and have addressed some issues as well, so it has been a pretty solid start to the offseason. While they have brought new faces in, some former Raiders are still looking for a home, and we look at three of them here.

Tahir Whitehead, LB

For two seasons, Tahir Whitehead was the man in the middle of the Raiders defense, starting all 32 games across the 2018 and 2019 seasons. While racking up 100 tackles in each season, Whitehead was a real liability in coverage, and it led to the franchise eventually cutting ties with him.

This past season, Whitehead played for the Carolina Panthers, playing in 14 games while making a handful of starts. He racked up 51 tackles on the season and nabbed an interception, but he looks to be slowing down a bit and is now more of a depth linebacker at this stage of his career.
