Las Vegas Raiders: Games that should be in primetime in 2021
Kansas City Chiefs – Home or Away
The Kansas City Chiefs are still the class of the AFC, though they fell short in the Super Bowl to an incredibly talented Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad. 2020 was the first time since 2017, and just the second time since 2014, where the Raiders avoided the sweep against Kansas City, as they defeated them in Week 5 at Arrowhead, but fell just short in primetime just over a month later.
The rivalry is back in full effect as both matchups came down to the wire as the Raiders held off a furious comeback from the Chiefs in the win with timely turnovers but could not repeat the feat in the home matchup. Both teams scored over 30 points in each game, and the average total combined points was an absurd 69.
If you want high-scoring shootouts with plenty of talent all across the board, then this is the matchup the NFL needs to put on primetime TV. They may want to show off the brand new digs at Allegiant Stadium with a full crowd but primetime games at Arrowhead Stadium have plenty of mystique as well.
Regardless of which game the NFL chooses to feature to a national TV audience, we should expect at least one to be in one of the marquee slots on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night.
