The Las Vegas Raiders got wide receiver John Brown on a very team-friendly deal this offseason, and he is already working out with Derek Carr.

For the second offseason in a row, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is wasting no time getting used to his new weapons. Yesterday, Carr and new wide receiver John Brown were out in the desert putting in that work, something that will hopefully lead to them getting comfortable with one another, and helping move this offense forward.

We are still waiting to see who will step up as the WR1 in Las Vegas this upcoming season, this 2020 WR1 Nelson Agholor proved to be too pricey for the team to bring him back. Agholor and Carr enjoyed a terrific season together, as he became his top option on the outside, but Nelly will now be catching passes from Cam Newton in 2021.

For Brown, the hope is that he can slide into that role if Henry Ruggs III is not ready.

Raiders could be set at the wide receiver spot

With the addition of Brown, and the team bringing back Zay Jones, the Raiders could actually be done in terms of the wide receiver position. Sure, there is a chance they take a wide receiver in a very deep 2021 wide receiver class, but after drafting both Ruggs and Bryan Edwards last year, Mike Mayock may decide to avoid the position group this draft cycle.

Ruggs is expected to have a monster second season, and Edwards has everything you look for in an NFL wideout. Also, Hunter Renfrow is automatic on third down, and they also have an elite tight end, so in terms of the passing game, Carr may already have everything he needs for a fourth 4,000-yard season in a row.

Of course, the Raiders still have issues on both sides of the ball, including right tackle, the secondary, and a few other spots. But for the wide receiver group, they have assembled a solid collection of talent, and the team should have no problem pushing the ball down the field through the air in 2021.
