2021 7-round NFL Mock Draft: Las Vegas Raiders strike gold at pick No. 17

806. . LB. Nittany Lions . Micah Parsons. 17. player

The Las Vegas Raiders did a nice job bringing back Nicholas Morrow to their linebacker group, and the hope is that Cory Littleton can improve now that Paul Guenther has been replaced by Gus Bradley. Sitting at pick No. 17, the Raiders could go several different ways, but in this mock simulation, Penn State star Micah Parsons was available, and I just could not pass up on him.

The defense has long been an issue with the Raiders, and in Parsons, they would get better a player that many scouts feel is on another level than all other defensive players in this draft class. He would be the glue for this Raiders defense for years to come, as he has tremendous athletic ability, and is an absolute missile from his linebacker spot.

There are some questions about Parsons’ character, and that is something that I am sure Mayock and Gruden are going to work through heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite linebackers not being a huge need, they cannot afford to pass up on Parsons if he is still somehow available at pick No. 17 overall.
